Elections

Who is on your ballot, what each office actually does, and how to vote. Every candidate in a race gets a page alongside their opponents, not one of their own.

Wicomico County — 2026 General Election

Wicomico County · 2026-11-03 · 17 races

Wicomico County votes on Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

This guide does not cover the whole ballot. It includes the Maryland House of Delegates District 38B contest, the County Executive, all seven County Council seats, the Sheriff, all seven Board of Education seats, and all seven ballot questions — the four Wicomico charter questions and Maryland's three constitutional amendments.

District 38B is a state legislative race, not a county office. It is included here because the State Board of Elections lists the district under Wicomico County and both candidates are locally based. Other state and federal contests are still outside this guide. Also not covered here: the State's Attorney, Clerk of the Circuit Court, Register of Wills, Judges of the Orphans' Court, and the two party Central Committees. Check the official ballot for the complete list.

One candidate this year is a write-in, whose name is not printed on the ballot: Joyce Farrare in Board of Education District 1, where she is the only candidate. A vote for a write-in has to be written in by hand, so if you live in District 1 and want a say in who runs your schools, you will not find a name to mark.

A second write-in, Lavonzella "Von" Siggers in Board of Education District 3, withdrew on August 17, 2026.

Five of the seven council seats have no incumbent running. Of the current members, only Shanie Shields and James Winn are seeking council seats; Josh Hastings is running for the House of Delegates, and John Cannon, Jeff Merritt, David Ennis and Joe Holloway are not on any council ballot. Whoever wins, this will be a substantially new council.

It is also the first county election run on the new map, so the district you vote in may not be the one you voted in last time.

Worcester County — 2026 General Election

Worcester County · 2026-11-03 · 17 races

This CivicBury guide covers Worcester County's local 2026 general-election contests: all seven County Commissioner districts; State's Attorney; Clerk of the Circuit Court; Register of Wills; Judge of the Orphans' Court; Sheriff; Board of Education Districts 1, 4, 6 and 7; and the Worcester County seat for Judge of the Circuit Court, Circuit 1.

Four of those local contests have more candidates than seats: County Commissioner District 5, Board of Education Districts 1 and 6, and the three-seat Orphans' Court race. The remaining local contests have one active candidate listed on the certified general-election ballot.

Maryland's three statewide constitutional questions are shared across county guides and therefore do not need duplicate Worcester files. This guide does not attempt to reproduce the federal, statewide, General Assembly or appellate-retention contests. The State Board of Elections' certified Worcester County ballot remains the source of record for the complete ballot.
