Caryn Abbott Incumbent

Republican

Abbott won the Republican primary with 538 votes (53.32%), ahead of Laura Gladding Morrison and Shaun W. Shockley.

She was elected to the County Commissioners in 2022 and is serving her first term. The county biography says she represents the commissioners on the Tri-County Council for the Lower Eastern Shore and was the first woman elected to represent the Southern District.

Before taking office, Abbott retired after a 36-year career as an emergency-room nurse. The county also describes her as an entrepreneur and former business owner, founder and president of Worcester Backs the Blue, a Pocomoke Chamber of Commerce member, and a longtime American Red Cross volunteer RN.

This draft uses her official county biography for background; no campaign platform in her own words was located in the quick-source pass.
